Calling Nova Scotia home means ocean views, active living and welcoming communities. Practicing here means working with passionate colleagues, providing world class care, and helping people be healthy and stay healthy, for generations. The Nova Scotia Health Authority provides health services to Nova Scotians and some specialized services to Atlantic Canadians. We operate hospitals, health centres and collaborative community-based programs across the province.
The Western Zone is supported by three regional facilities, as well as a number of community hospitals and health centres. Specialty services are distributed among the three regional hospitals located in Bridgewater, Kentville and Yarmouth. The Zone encompasses the coastal beaches and fishing communities of the South Shore, the historic French communities on the Acadian Shore, and farmers markets, breathtaking apple orchards and vineyards of the Annapolis Valley. Western Zone is home to the centrally located Kejimkujik National Park and the UNESCO World Heritage recognized Bay of Fundy. There’s something for everyone in this region, all within a 1-3 hour commute to the capital city. |
