ABOUT NOW LC
WHO WE ARE AND WHY WE'RE SO PASSIONATE ABOUT THE WORK WE DO
NOW LC has always held the intention of moving the conversation towards action. All of this work has culminated with the hiring of a full time Population Growth Coordinator, Tina Hennigar. The role of the Coordinator is to increase the population growth and promote Lunenburg County as a place where it's possible to create a life you love. If you you have information or news to share with Tina, you can reach her at firstname.lastname@example.org or call her at 902-523-5725.
The release of the Ivany Report was a pivotal moment for me. I felt a real need to act and not wait for "someone else to do something" about creating a better future for Lunenburg County.
I'm excited to be working with people who are ready to ask the hard questions and to get things done. This is my home, where my business is and where I choose to live. I believe that the only thing standing in the way of our prosperity is ourselves. It's time to get out of our own way.
I was drawn to the Now Lunenburg County Team as a result of this crazy idea they had in 2017 to drive across the country promoting Lunenburg County as a great place to live. As a newer member of the Team I am energized by the way the team is looking at the issues that impact the economic and population growth and sustainability of Lunenburg County. The team is focused on concrete actions that we can take together, as shared communities, to make life better for all of us who live in and love Lunenburg County.
The 2014 Ivany Report reminded me of a comment often made by an Acadia colleague and friend, that “Nova Scotia lost its nerve after the age of wooden shipbuilding and has not yet found the confidence to try again to achieve such success”. I wanted to contribute to Nova Scotia economic growth and sustainability, so am very happy to find NowLC already formed and doing exactly that for Lunenburg County.
I was drawn to the group’s willingness to step up and take action on issues affecting the economic sustainability and prosperity of Lunenburg County. As a newer member of the team, I’m happy to contribute to the mission of NOW, and to give back to the community where I was born and raised.

"Hi, I'm not sure if you're the right people to ask but my partner and I are considering moving to lunenburg county over the next year and are interested in finding out what the prospects are like for high school teachers in the county. I wonder if you would know this or if you could point me in the direction to find out this information.
We'd LOVE to have you and we NEED teachers!! Here is a link to our high school teaching jobs that are vacant. Please find attached the link to the job postings at our regional school board. New vacancies are posted every Tuesday at 4 pm! Bookmark it and look every week until you find the right one for you. What else are you looking for in your new life in Nova Scotia? "
